The LOOP Manifesto
LOOP is a new way to experience photography.
In photography, everything starts with a choice: someone saw something and decided you had to see it too.
Sometimes an image strikes you before you know the name of whoever took it, its story or its value. LOOP starts there: with what a vision sets off, and the urge to look again.
In Milan, LOOP brings together a space dedicated to photography and a programme of exhibitions, editorial content, encounters and experiences. A yearly theme puts established authors in dialogue with new voices. Group shows cross it from different perspectives; solo shows take you inside one photographer’s way of seeing.
Talks, workshops and special events weave photography together with other languages, widening the ways images can be read and lived.
You can stop in front of what strikes you, look at your own pace, ask questions, discover the stories and the choices behind the images. And, if you want, you can choose the works that bring a collection of your own to life.
You don’t need to be an expert to come in. Start from whatever makes you curious.
Because what you see is not all that counts. How you look at it counts too.
